Woman transported to LRMC after suffering medical episode on County Road 466

A woman driving a pickup truck suffered a medical episode Thursday moments before crashing her pickup into a tree on County Road 466 near the Hampton Inn.

The truck had been eastbound at about 11:20 a.m. when it left the roadway and hit a tree in the median, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center. She was the only person in the truck.
