A woman has turned in her sister who gave her name to police after she was involved in an accident at a busy intersection in The Villages.
Amber Marie Pheil, 28, of Ocala, had been at the wheel of a car in an accident Sept. 14 at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Griffin Avenue, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. She told the police officer she didn’t have her driver’s license with her and gave the officer the name of her 26-year-old sister to the officer. The next day, the sister called police to report that her sister had given them a false name. An officer telephoned Pheil who admitted she had provided a false name. She said she did so because her driver’s license had been suspended as of Dec. 30.
Pheil was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended and providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,500 bond.
