THE VILLAGES – Col. Edmond W. Robert, USAF, Ret. entered into eternal life, Friday, July 5, 2013. Born in Central Falls, RI, he was the son of Mrs. Laura (Messier) Robert and the late Edmond Robert. Edmond was a logistics officer in the U. S. Air Force. He served his country with honor and distinction in a career spanning 36 years. Col. Robert graduated from Officer Training School as Second Honor Graduate. Following his graduation from Army Command and Staff College, he took command of the 410th Organizational Maintenance Squadron, KI Sawyer AFB. He attended the Air War College and became the 28 Logistics Group Commander at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. He was awarded numerous decorations including the Air Force Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal w/4 devices, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Legion of Merit. He retired in July 2000 from Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Edmond and his wife Suzanne came to The Villages from Fort Myers, FL in 2010. . He enjoyed growing orchids, golf, playing trivia and reading. He was a member of the French Club and the Rhode Island Club, The Villages. He was a volunteer tax preparer for AARP and a volunteer at Take Stock with Children. He held life memberships in the Air Force Retirees Association and the Air Force Retired Officers Association. Edmond is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Suzanne (Fregeau) Robert; his mother, Laura Robert of Wilmington, NC, daughters, Lisa Robert of Virginia, Kim Robert of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sons, Jeffrey and Daniel Robert of Dayton, Ohio and a sister, Elaine Dupre of Wilmington, NC. Sadly, he was predeceased by a son, Todd and daughter, Heather. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Timothy Catholic Church on Monday July 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your favorite cancer organization. Golf course deserves a failing grade
