Barbara Ann Hudson

Barbara Ann Hudson, 69, passed from this life, Saturday, August 31, 2013. Born in St. Augustine, FL she was the daughter of the late Allen and Mattie (Allison) Frazier. Barbara was a graduate of Jersey City State College and was a registered nurse. She was employed at the UMD University of Medicine, Newark, NJ for 40 years and volunteered countless hours at free clinics in the Newark-New York City area. She was a woman who enjoyed music and loved to dance. Travelling to exotic countries and experiencing different cultures, especially through cruising was a favorite. And Barbara loved to shop. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church at The Villages. Active in her church, she gave her talent of voice as a chorister. She was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the TLC Book Club, The Villages Book Club, and the Red Hatters Club. Barbara was most proud of her husband of 47 years, Billie, and her family. Sadly, besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Allen Frazier, Jr. She leaves her husband, Billie Hudson, Jr., daughter, Courtney Yvette Hudson of Silver Spring, MD, son, Darrin Emmanuel Hudson of Tampa, FL, siblings, Ruby Jean Lee of Green Cove Springs, FL, Betty Jean Street of Jacksonville, FL, Clarence Frazier of Jacksonville, FL, Frank Frazier of Jacksonville, FL, Gloria Gatewood of St. Augustine, FL. Joyce Lewis of Houston, TX, Willie Lee Frazier of Green Cove Springs, FL, 3 grandchildren, Ryan Hudson, Ariana Hudson and Jaden Hudson. The family will received relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the First Baptist Church at The Villages 16985 SE 79th Clearview Ave., The Villages, FL on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services for Barbara will be held at the First Baptist Church at The Villages on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date.
