Billie Thatcher played to a crowd of Greyhound enthusiasts this evening in Spruce Creek South. The community center was filled with spectators supporting Greyhound Adoptions of Florida, an organization dedicated to saving the lives of rescued greyhounds.
The evening was planned and put together by leaders Jackie O’Hara, Carol Bellavia, and founder Marilyn Varnberg. “[Greyhounds] are the kindest, gentlest dogs. If there were ever a breed of dog that doesn’t get what they deserve, it’s the greyhound” spoke Varnberg of the mistreated dog. The society is dedicated to placing greyhounds rescued from short-lived racing careers into homes with loving families.
