Pirates take 2-1 series lead over Cardinals

NLDS LogoThe Pittsburgh Pirates won game 3 over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. The game started with a 2-run Pirate lead for the first five innings, before it was tied by the Cardinals.

The teams traded runs in the later innings before Jason Grilli came in to notch the save. Carlos Beltran tallied all of the Cardinal’s RBI’s (3), but could not help his team pull off the difficult road victory.

The teams face off Monday afternoon for game 4, with the Cardinals facing elimination and with the Pirates facing their first taste of playoff success in over 20 years.
