The historic Baker House will be open for tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Baker House is located at 6106 County Road 44A, one mile east of Buena Vista Blvd.
“Each room of the house has been decorated in the style of the late 1800’s by different individuals, groups or businesses. Visitors can vote for their favorite room. Last year over 750 people enjoyed touring the house in December. We hope to double that number this year as this is an important fund raiser for us,” said Gidget Gibson, president of The Wildwood Area Historical Association.
The home of Senator Baker, built in the late 1800’s is being restored by The Wildwood Area Historical Association. The Baker home was donated to the City of Wildwood by the Baker family in 2012.
Also on this Saturday on the grounds of the Baker House, The Sons of the Confederacy, Camp 741 will conduct a Living History Tent Encampment. Troops in period uniforms and gear will welcome questions about the Civil War period.
