Love INC looking for donations to help brighten Christmas for local families

Love INC is having an event Saturday, Dec. 21 at Ocklawaha United Methodist’s Church campus to make Christmas special for those who are in need who have fallen through the cracks of other programs and agencies.

“Love INC is a gap ministry which means we help those who are not being helped elsewhere,” said Cheryl Hershberger of  Love INC.

The event will give more than 275 kids the opportunity to shop through gently used items for their siblings and parents, make s’mores, hear the story of the birth of Jesus, make a craft, sing carols, and have their picture taken with Santa. While the children are busy, the parents will shop at Love’s Gift Shoppe for new gifts for their children. Parents will select, wrap, and pour love into the carefully selected gifts, Hershberger said.

Love INC receives the calls and referrals of those throughout our ministry area who need holiday help.

“We then verify and clarify the requests and coordinate with other organizations and agencies in the counties to assure that services are not being duplicated,” Hershberger said.

Love INC invites the public to participate in helping these less fortunate families enjoy a meaningful Christmas.  Gifts should be dropped off at the Love INC Warehouse, which is behind Centsible Furnishings at 15797 S. Hwy. 441, Summerfield, one mile north of Hwy. 42.

Sign up to help by calling Love INC at 245-8774.
