The Villages Twirlers performed in Monday’s Florida Citrus Parade in downtown Orlando.
It was their fourth appearance in that event.
“The crowd ROARED with cheering each and every time the announcer said our name and where we were from! They also said we range in age from 55 to 90 years old and they really cheered,” said Villages Twirlers leader Ann Pelle. ” At times I couldn’t hear our own drummers who were playing full force due to the wonderful cheers!! Now OFF to the Gator Bowl!!”
On Tuesday (New Year’s Eve) the Villages Twirlers will perform at the Gator Bowl Parade which steps off at 3 p.m. The Villages Twirlers are No. 8 in the lineup.
This is the Twirlers’ first Gator Bowl Parade performance.
Kickoff of the 2014 Gator Bowl is noon Wednesday and features the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Georgia Bulldogs.
