The temperature was in the low 50’s, the winds blowing in the mid 20’s, and people were still out Thursday at the Spanish Springs Farmers Market getting their fresh fruits and vegetables.
As the high winds were blowing down portions on the vendors’ tents, the owners and workers were trying to tie them down, all as customers were still squeezing tomatoes, trying free samples, and haggling prices.
Debbie Howard, who was working at the Reed’s Groves stand, was selling freshly grown strawberries to customers, as the owner of the stand was selling his other freshly grown vegetables and fruits to other customers, all while trying to secure his tent. Debbie said that business was a lot busier than they expected with the conditions outside. Debbie also indicated that all their fruits and vegetables were grown at the Reed’s farm in Weirsdale. She also said they have regular customers who come to the Farmer’s Market every week to stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables.
