Fross & Fross continued to play the giant killer by mercy ruling IHOP and create a log jam atop the league standings. After halting 3Amigos win streak last week, Fross & Fross pounded previously undefeated IHOP in a 5 inning mercy rule victory. Jim Rogers led the way with 4 hits, aided by Wayne Mallory and Ray Beaupre who each had 3 hits. Ed DeMaio and Tom Ramberg both had 3 RBI’s for the winners. IHOP could not get their offense moving and were led by pitcher Bob Iverson’s 3 hits and Walt Banko’s 2 hits.

Humana scored 6 runs in the last 2 innings for a comeback win. Jack Coit’s big day of 5 hits, including a homerun and 3 RBI’s paced the winners. Dave Oatley(2 RBI’s) and Jim Kennedy each had 3 hits while 6 others players had 2 hits each. Bob Nizlek led SRG with 4 hits and 2 RBI’s. Pat Perkins and Paul Shaffer added 3 hits each while 5 others had 2 hits each.

Metlife scored 5 runs in the 5th and survived a 3 run 7th to top 3Amigos and give them a very rare 2 game losing streak. Manager Vern Brooks(3 RBI’s), pitcher Harold Holiman and Larry Williams each had 3 hits to lead Metlife in this back and forth contest . Rick Fredieu also had 3 RBI’s for the winners. 3Amigos got 4 hits/3RBI’s from Mark Hildebrand, 3hits/3 RBI’s from Rod Severson and 2hits/3RBI’s from Dave Hinkley.

Sage Point scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th to break a tie and held Arden scoreless in the bottom of the inning for the win. Mike Labetti and Ron Rowe each had 4 hits for Sage. In addition Tom Aldridge(4 RBI’s) had 3 hits while John Gouin drove in 5 runs. Arden was led by Bob Strolin’s big day of 4 hits and 6 RBI’s, while Ed Kordus and Ron Robarge had 3 hits each.

Babiarz kept Harlan from their first win behind manager Bob Winder and Tom Bolte who each had 4 hits. Roger Duncan and Felix Rodriguez aided the victory with 3 hits each. Harlan was led by Chick Cicatelli’s 3 hits and sub Terry Cole who went 4 for 4.

Cebert got back on the winning side and kept Perkins winless behind hot hitting Bob Buchanan’s 4 hits and 5 RBI’s. In addition, Bob Cramer had 4 hits and 4 RBI’s while manager Henry Ship had 3 hits and 3 RBI’s. Perkins was led by Tim Carroll and Jim Morton who each had 3 hits.
