William Gabbe Jr., 95 of the Villages, FL passed away on February 18, 2014. Born to William and Alvina Gabbe on September 28, 1918. He grew up in Bay City, MI with his beloved sisters Arlene and Ardis. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in mechanical engineering and served with distinction as a naval officer in the Pacific during WWII. After the war he married his beautiful wife Jo and raised their two children Janis and Robert in Michigan and California. Later he worked in Pennsylvania before retiring first to North Carolina and then to The Villages, FL. An active charter member of Hope Lutheran Church, he served on the original building team committee. He is survived by his wife, children, sister, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages, FL at 11:00 AM on Thursday February 27, 2014. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to Lane Purcell Hospice House, 2452 County Rd 526E, Sumterville, FL 33585. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
