A 62-year-old Villager was ticketed on a charge of careless driving after losing control of her golf cart at 7:45 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Del Mar Drive and Del Rio Drive.
When Lady Lake police officers arrived on scene, Marianna T. Chiomento of 207 Del Rio Drive was sitting on the grass with her golf cart in the bushes, according to the accident report.
Chimento told police she was driving on Del Mar Drive and attempted to make a right-hand turn onto her street, Del Rio Drive, and something happened to her steering. She was unable to complete the turn and drove into the bushes before she was able to stop the golf car, the report indicated.
Lake EMS was called to the scene, but she declined treatment.
Her 2004 Yamaha Golf Cart was towed from the scene by Kling’s Towing.
