85-year-old driver killed in Lake County accident

An 85-year-old Leesburg man was killed in a two-vehicle collision at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 27 and Pelican Isle Drive in Lake County.

The man has been identified as William Kintop of Leesburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead by the medical examiner.

His van had been traveling south on U.S. Hwy. 27 when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Elizabeth Dusso of Leesburg pulled into the path of the van, according to the FHP accident report. She suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
