Wildwood man arrested on felony drug charge

A 24-year-old Wildwood man was arrested on a felony drug charge at 10:26 p.m. Saturday at the Spirit Travel Center in Lake Panasoffkee.

A Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed a vehicle at the store with an inoperable tag light. The deputy approached the vehicle’s driver identified as Bradley Craig McCormic.

McCormic was reaching for paperwork in his vehicle when the deputy noticed a syringe and asked McCormic if he was diabetic, according to an arrest report. McCormic said he was not diabetic. It was determined that McCormic was in possession of pipes, marijuana and methamphetamine.

McCormic was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a felony charge of drug possession and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment.

Bond was set at $4,000.
