Francis Craddock ‘Buck’ Hughes

Francis Cradock “Buck” Hughes, 85, The Villages, FL, passed from this life Tuesday, January 13 2015. He was born in Cincinnati, OH but grew up in Indianapolis, IN and was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Johnston) Hughes. After graduating from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN, Buck became active in many civic organizations. He was a retired vice-president of sales and marketing for Harris, Press and Shear Manufacturing of St. Paul, MN and Cordele, GA. Buck was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He moved to The Villages from Woodbury, MN in 1994. Buck was most proud of his marriage of 59 years to his best friend and wife Marilyn, his two beloved children and four grandchildren. He enjoyed The Villages and was an avid golfer. Buck leaves his wife, Marilyn (Potter) Hughes, daughter, Kathryn Hughes and spouse Annie Ogostalick of Laguna Niguel, CA, son John Hughes and partner Jayne of Spearfish, SD, sister, Geraldine Ellis of North Carolina, brother, Joseph Hughes (Mary) of Bethesda, MD and four grandchildren, Anna, Natalie, Maya and Madeline. The family will receive relatives and friends at visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL directly following the Mass.
