Villages acts find alternate venues during Katie Belle’s renovation

Katie Belle’s is closed for remodeling but musical performers like Rocky and the Rollers will rock on in different places.

It looks like such venues as the American Legion Post 347 in Lady Lake and La Hacienda Center in The Villages will pick up part of the slack.

The Rollers were one of the top, regular attractions at Katie Belle’s, which is not expected to reopen until fall.

“A lot of people were asking us when Katie Belle’s closed, where they could come to our dances,” said Gerry “Rocky” Seader, leader of the band. “So, we’re going to be playing the Legion Post.” The Rollers will play there on a regular basis.

The first two monthly “Follow the Fun” dances will be held May 29-30, at 6 p.m.at the Legion Post, 699 W Lady Lake Blvd. Tickets will be available at the Legion Post. The Rollers also appear at Town Squares and will host an oldies concert in late July at the Savannah Center.
