A Democrat announced his intent to again challenge incumbent Congressman Rich Nugent in 2016.

Dave Koller announced his candidacy Saturday morning at a meeting of the Villages Democratic Club at Colony Cottage Recreation Center.

“We must put country before party politics, we must fight for a balanced nation, from Wall Street to Main Street, we are all Americans, republicans democrats, independents doesn’t matter, the solutions come from within, from the citizens,” Koller said.

This marks Koller’s second bid for the 11th District Congressional seat.

Even though he was unsuccessful in 2014, Koller contends he built a strong base that continues to expand.

Nugent, a Spring Hill Republican, has served in Congress since 2011.
