Man arrested on Eagles Nest Road after allegedly knocking glasses off ex-girlfriend

A 51-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly struck his ex-girlfriend and knocked off her glasses.

Steven Joseph Hamel was arrested on a charge of domestic battery by Lake County sheriff’s deputies after they received a 911 hangup call from his residence on Eagles Nest Road.

The deputies discovered that Hamel had been convicted of simple battery in 2002.

He was booked on $5,000 bond at the Lake County Jail. He is due for arraignment July 27 in Lake County Court.
