Manager in The Villages arrested on domestic battery charge

A 45-year-old man who works as a manager in The Villages was arrested Wednesday on a charge of domestic battery.

Fruitland Park police were called at 9:30 p.m. to an apartment on Spring Lake Cove Lane.

The victim called police from a downstairs neighbor’s after Harold Stephano allegedly hit her in the head with a frying pan and then pushed her around inside the apartment, according to the arrest report.

The victim took her children and left the apartment, the arrest report indicated.

Stephano was booked on $1,000 bond at the Lake County Jail. He is due for arraignment July 28 in Lake County Court.

On the booking sheet filled out by the arrest officer, Stephano indicated he works as a manager in The Villages.
