A former Villages High School football standout is being held without bond at the Lake County Jail following his arrest in Clermont.

Nigel Rashad Barker, 22, was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday by a Lake County sheriff’s deputy.

Last month, Barker forfeited $3,000 bond he had posted in June. He had  failed to show up in Lake County Court and a warrant for his arrest was issued by Judge Donna F. Miler.

Barker had been arrested in June after he allegedly battered the mother of his child after an argument over a packet of doughnuts.

Barker, who had been a member of the VHS Class of 2012, played running back and corner back for the Buffalo.
