Liberty Park resident Diane Clemmons, registrar of John Bartram Chapter-DAR, has been honored as the Outstanding Volunteer Genealogist by the Florida State Society of Daughters of the American Revolution at its fall convention in Orlando this past weekend. Clemmons qualified for the award by helping so many prospective members that John Bartram Chapter became DAR’s fastest growing chapter in the nation in 2014.
Clemmons will be available for applicants’ consultation at the chapter’s Open House and Birthday Party celebrating DAR’s 125th Anniversary from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 3 at Eisenhower Recreation Center. There’ll be refreshments, fun and facts, including a showing of “Today’s DAR” a prize-winning video. All Villages women are invited to learn more about our famous national service society. Call Membership Chair Trish Waldemayer 352-533-8884 for further information or questions.
