Ruth Louise Weatherhead, age 100, of The Villages FL, passed away on Saturday October 10th at the Leesburg South Campus Rehab and Nursing Care. Born to Fred and Emma Hermel on August 28th, 1915 in Holyoke, Minnesota. Baptized at North Morristown Trinity Lutheran Church. Confirmed July 14th, 1929 at Inherred Lutheran Church Turtle Mountains, Bottineau, North Dakota and married to Hugo Schultz on October 18th, 1939. Hugo passed away April 7, 1957. Ruth is survived by three Children, DuWayne (Karin) Schultz, Clayton, GA, Deanna (Larry) Acord, Cedarapids, IA, and Illona (John) Weatherhead, The Villages, FL. On August 2, 1966 Ruth married Donald Weatherhead who passed away February 17, 1972. Also preceding Ruth in death are brothers, Alvin and George Hermel and sisters, Esther Lucht and Irene Kokoschke. Ruth is survived by sister, Helen Combs, Huntsville, AL and brother, Clarence (Tony) Hermel, Talking Rock, GA; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault, MN. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and was an avid bird watcher. Some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family members at holiday dinners and most recently celebrating her 100th birthday. She was known for her loyalty as a friend, for her sense of humor, and for her ability to live life on the “sunny side”. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be handled by the Boldt Funeral Home in Faribault, Minn.
