Man charged with aggravated battery with a golf club

A 40-year-old Wildwood man has been jailed without bond after allegedly striking two people with a golf club.

Arthur Malone Rish was taken into custody by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies after he allegedly used the golf club to strike a woman and a man in separate incidents on Monday.

Rish was already out on bond following his arrest Dec. 20 on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He had also been convicted in 2004 on a charge of battery.

He was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.

During the investigation, the male victim in the golf club attacks, 38-year-old Daniel Alexander Boone of Summerfield, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug equipment. He was booked on $8,000 bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
