The insanity of CH2M Hill

To the Editor:

Recently, I had a leak at my water meter box. Water was bubbling out of it. I called the water department for help. They sent two techs out and they said the leak was on my side of the meter. The leak was at the joint on my side of the meter. So they said it was my problem. I told them, that the meter had been replaced a few years ago. When doing so, they decided to modify the pipe connection on my side of the meter. They told me that they only guarantee their work for seven days maybe 10 days at most. (What a fabulous warranty that is). I called Anthony Torre Plumbing to come fix the pipe. They came in short order, fixed the problem and told me the reason why it broke was because when they put the new meter in, they put the concrete coved box directly on top of the pipe rather than leaving a gap. The weight of the concrete box over time fractured the pipe. Thank you TORRE for promptly fixing the problem.
This morning I called ED at the water department (better known as CH2M Hill – why can’t businesses have real names like water company or trash company?) The lady I talked to said she would have a supervisor call me because they don’t have a local manager. A supervisor called me. I told him of the situation telling him they installed the new meter and but the concrete box resting on the pipe which over time caused the failure. He had the audacity to tell me that happens all the time where the box resting on the pipe causes a break. Net result, he said too bad it is my problem. If in fact he knows this happens all the time, why would they not put in place an installation directive not to place the box resting on the pipe?
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.
Looks like insanity is pervasive at CH2M Hill.
