A 21-year-old cleaning lady admitted she had taken a Villager’s bank card and ran up charges on it, “because I’m an idiot.”
Abigail Lorraine Bowles was arrested Tuesday by Marion County sheriff’s deputies on charges of fraudulent use of a credit card, attempting to use the identification of another person without their consent and petit theft.
She had been hired between June 21 and Oct. 1 to clean a home on Baylor Place in the Village of Sunset Pointe, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. She allegedly took the woman’s Citizens First Bank card and ran up charges on Oct. 26, 28 and 29 at Wal-Mart, Dollar General and Circle K.
When asked why she had used the Villager’s bank card, Bowles responded, “Because I’m an idiot,” according to the arrest report.
Bowles had been terminated from the cleaning position in early October. She was arrested after she allegedly stole jewelry from the Villager and pawned it. When she was taken into custody on Oct. 4 by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies, she said she was extremely sorry and had been “struggling to survive.” You can read more about that arrest HERE.
