Man killed after vehicle leaves roadway and strikes power pole on State Road 44 in Lake County

A 25-year-old Eustis man was killed after his vehicle left the roadway early Sunday morning and struck a power pole on State Road 44 in Lake County.

Tyler Marshall had been at the wheel of a 2003 Chevy pickup at 4:10 a.m. and was eastbound on County Road 44A when his truck left the roadway and traveled on to State Road 44, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The truck then struck a power pole.

The roadway was shut down due to live powerlines down on the pavement.

Marshall was pronounced dead by the Medical Examiner’s office.

The crash remains under investigation.
