Driver trauma alerted to Ocala hospital after vehicle strikes tree 

A driver was trauma alerted to Ocala Regional Medical Center after a vehicle struck a tree Thursday evening near Saddlebrook Recreation Center.

The silver Hyundai Elantra had been traveling on Buena Vista Boulevard shortly after 6 p.m. when it left the roadway and struck the tree, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office

The driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
