A couple dozen Villagers lined up before 11 a.m. Friday to be the first to try the newest restaurant addition to The Villages.
Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen and Bar officially opened it’s doors for business and many were eager to explore The Villages newest eatery.
The restaurant, which was formerly the home of TGI Friday’s and then Honest John’s before going through a third transition. It has the same basic layout as its predecessors with some not-so-subtle artistic differences. Multiple hand painted murals were added to the walls, including Fieri’s famous “Welcome to Flavortown” catchphrase.
Those expecting a new set of dining options may be a little disappointed, as the restaurant boasts a menu exclusively filled with American-fare. The menu includes burgers, wings, steaks, pastas, and larger-than-life desserts, all mainstays of the previous two inhabitants of the prime Lake Sumter Landing location.
