The Club Rehab Center at Mulberry Grove was locked down Tuesday after a threat involving a gun.
Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to the facility on Belle Meade Circle after an individual left and threatened to return with a gun.
The 80-year-old Villager had been at the facility visiting his 83-year-old wife when he became upset and reportedly made the threat. Law enforcement was able to get in touch with the man’s stepdaughter in Ohio. She told them that about two years ago, he threatened someone with a gun and that her mother was concerned. The stepdaughter was able to reach the man by phone and he denied making the threat. Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were able to make contact with the man at his home.
