Response to smoke and mirrors about gates

To the Editor:

Since the gates/barriers were probably here before you moved in, my question is why did you? Perhaps you need to move to a community that doesn’t have this extra layer of security. Yes we all know that anyone can push a button and drive in but it still records vehicles entering which in the case of a crime committed may help the authorities track down the offenders. Perhaps you don’t mind a crime being committed against you or your property, but we do. In addition, it slows down cars entering/leaving and having been almost hit three times in a golf cart by speeding drivers when the barriers were removed, we want them to remain. If these barriers are a problem for you or anyone else may I suggest a move to a less caring community.
