Man riding in Volvo with Missouri license plates arrested after bookbag full of drugs discovered

Beon O’Zar Strong

A man who had been riding in the backseat of a Volvo with Missouri license plates was arrested early Friday after a bookbag full of drugs was discovered.

Beon O’Zar Strong, 32, of Wildwood, had been riding in the back seat of the Volvo at 3:27 a.m. on State Road 44 when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy discovered the tag number was not on file in Missouri. In a bookbag, four separately packaged clear plastic bags of methamphetamine, with a total combined weight of 44 grams was found. Strong denied the bookbag belonged to him.

The woman driving the Volvo and a front-seat passenger both said Strong had been wearing the bookbag when they picked him up.

Strong is facing drug trafficking charges and was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $26,000 bond.
