Villager arrested after spotted in golf cart on the Historic Side of The Villages

A 46-year-old resident of The Villages was arrested early Sunday morning after he was spotted behind the wheel of a golf cart on the Historic Side of The Villages.

Thomas J. McVay, 46, who resides at 1607 W. Schwartz Blvd., was spotted at 2:21 a.m. driving a golf cart near St. Andrews Boulevard and Doral Circle. The Lady Lake police officer who spotted him, knew that McVay has been classified as a habitual offender and his driver’s license has been revoked.

He was found to be in possession of a container with cocaine in it as well as a glass pipe.

McVay has a long history of arrests in The Villages.
