A homeless man was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal merchandise on Black Friday at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.
Thomas Stephen Kudela III, 38, of Summerfield, was arrested at about 2:30 p.m. Friday on a charge of petit theft after he allegedly attempted to take $77.82 in merchandise from the store, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Kudela told a deputy that he did not have any money, is homeless and was living in the woods.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
