A Village of Springdale woman was arrested Saturday after her swerving vehicle reportedly traveled into the golf cart lane.
Jean Ann Boysen, 66, had been at the wheel of a vehicle that was pulled over at about 5 p.m. on Alcona Avenue in the San Antonio Villas.
When a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy spoke to Boysen, she slurred her words, swayed from side to side, and could not maintain her balance, according to an arrest report.
She admitted she had consumed a gin and tonic.
After two breath samples, the results were .068 and .067 blood alcohol content, respectively.
“It should be noted that since the time of the call at 4:58 P.M., to the time of the breath samples provided at 6:58 P.M., is exactly two (2) hours. The breath alcoholic content reduces .015 every hour and thus at the time of the incident, the defendant was more intoxicated,” the deputy wrote in his report.
Additionally, Boysen admitted her driving may have been impaired due to drugs. A urine sample was collected.
She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a charge of driving under the influence. She was released on $1,000 bond.
In 2007, she had been convicted on a charge of DUI in Minnesota.
