Deputies investigating murder of 33-year-old woman in Bushnell

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a homicide that occurred on County Road 625 in Bushnell.

The sheriff’s office received a call at 2:28 p.m. Thursday in reference to a deceased person. Deputies responded and determined the victim died from homicidal violence. The victim has been identified as 33-yer-old Melody Bennett.
