A man with a large stash of drugs and cash was arrested in an area just outside of The Villages.
Patrick Vernon Dixon, 34, of Lady Lake, had been driving a Buick at about 11 a.m. Sunday on County Road 100 when he made an abrupt turn into NE 106th Lane, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Dixon got out of the car and would not comply with the deputy’s commands to get back into the vehicle. He became “aggressive” toward the deputy.
The deputy also detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle turned up 18 grams of cocaine, 100 Alprazolam 2mg pills, drug equipment and $1,032 in cash. Dixon also admitted his driver’s license was suspended.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $20,000 bond.
Dixon had been arrested last year in a vehicle with improperly tinted windows.
