Man jailed after allegedly stealing $2,000 worth of rings from Kohl’s in Lady Lake

Jake Sheeler

A man was jailed after allegedly stealing $2,000 worth of rings from Kohl’s in Lady Lake.

Jake Sheeler, 26, was being held this week at the Sumter County Detention Center after he was arrested Thursday at Beall’s on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Lady Lake.

Sheeler had been taken into custody along with Donna Marie Smith in a separate shoplifting incident.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were in touch with Lady Lake police who were seeking a suspect in connection with the theft of the rings. An officer went to Bealls and identified Sheeler from surveillance footage at Kohl’s

A Lake County judge on Friday signed a warrant for Sheeler’s arrest in connection with the Kohl’s case.

In 2014, Sheeler had been arrested in connection with the burglary of a home in Oakland Hills.
