Law enforcement investigating threatening text message at North Marion High School

Law enforcement is investigating a threatening text message sent this week to a student at North Marion High School.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy working as a school resource officer at the school was contacted by a juvenile victim in reference to a written threat, according to an incident report. The victim advised that on Tuesday at around 1:54 p.m., he received a text message in reference to a comment he made on the sender’s girlfriend’s post. The sender of the message and the victim exchanged a few texts until the sender threatened to shoot the victim “17 times in the face.”
