A substitute teacher reportedly picked up a parent’s child by the hair on Thursday at Lake Weir Middle School.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to the victim’s home in reference to an alleged simple battery, according to an incident report. Upon arrival, the deputy met with the victim’s mother who stated her son was in school when a substitute teacher picked the child up by his hair and hoodie. He was sitting in the middle of the classroom taking a test when the incident occurred, the incident report said.
