Lady Lake pair arrested in stolen car

Brittany Cherie West
Michael Wayne Dingus

Two Lady Lake residents were arrested Monday after they were spotted traveling in a stolen car.

Brittany Cherie West, 28, and Michael Wayne Dingus, 29, had been traveling in a Pontiac Vibe at about 6 p.m. in Tavares.

West, who had been driving, said she had gotten the vehicle from a friend and did not know it was stolen, according to an arrest report from the Tavares Police Department. Officers found that her driver’s license had been suspended in 2012 and she had been classified as a habitual offender in 2017.

Dingus was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail.

Dingus had been arrested in February when he was caught behind the wheel of a stolen SUV.
