Lake County Supervisor of Elections invites residents to opening of new, consolidated office

Lake County Supervisor of Elections Alan Hays is inviting citizens to come and celebrate the opening of their new office. They are now located at 1898 E. Burleigh Blvd. in Tavares.
The office will host a ribbon cutting/reception at 2 p.m. July 6. The public is welcome. There will be a small reception following the ribbon cutting. Since the office will be preparing for the Primary Election on Aug. 28, limited tours to public areas only will be available.

“We would like everyone to come out and see us in our new location and we are balancing that access with the security protocols that must be in place so close to election time,” stated Hays. We plan to have a full open house in December after the conclusion of the General Election. We hope everyone respects our need for security and enjoys some light refreshments as our team shows them around the office,” Hays said.

The new office consolidates the various operations of the Elections Office into one conveniently located office. The office is now located right off of U.S. Hwy. 441 (Burleigh Blvd) diagonally across the street from Florida Hospital Waterman, in the same building as Reunion Bank. Their goal in selecting the new location was to not only consolidate the various facets of their operation but to improve access for voters, candidates, and all who need their services. The new location has ample parking, plenty of room for election worker training, and will serve as an additional early voting site. “Our goal is to provide our voters with easier access, convenient parking, and a one-stop shop for all their voter services needs. I cannot thank Sheriff Grinnell and his team enough for helping us accomplish the task of moving in record time,” said Hays.
