Area residents and veterans are encouraged to attend an observance of Korean War Armistice Day that will be held Friday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in The Villages.
The featured color guard will be the Korean War Veterans, Chapter 169 and Amy Sexton will be the singer for the program. In lieu of having just one keynote speaker, Veterans Memorial Park
President Richard Simpson and Chaplin Tom Miller will interview Korean War veterans and allow them to share their stories.
The Veterans Memorial Park is located in Spanish Springs by Lake Mira Mar between Paige Place and the golf cart bridge over U.S. Hwy. 27/441. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
