Novice Villages golfer scores first hole-in-one at Sweetgum

Beyond elation! That’s how Villager Ron Riebe described his feelings after attaining a goal most golfers only dream about.

Villager Ron Riebe scored his first-ever hole-in-one on the first hole at Sweetgum Executive Golf Course with a 174-yard shot from the black tee.

Riebe, who has been playing golf for less than seven months, recently did the unthinkable and scored his first hole-in-one. The memorable shot came on the first hole at Sweetgum Executive Golf Course. Riebe was playing from the black tees and hit a 174-yard shot that that landed short of the green, took two hops and rolled softly into the cup.

After the special round, Riebe and company headed for the nearby Evans Prairie Country Club to celebrate.

After Riebe’s accomplishment was announced, he immediately said, “Drinks for everyone at the bar – on me.”
