A man is facing a pair of felony charges after allegedly ripping off his former employer.
Johnathon Ray Dove, 30, of Summerfield, was arrested Monday afternoon on charges of burglary and grand theft.
He went on Aug. 9 to Exquisite Hard Scapes Inc. Garden Center on U.S. 301 in Oxford, where he took a Predator pressure washer valued at $363 and an Echo backpack blower valued at $350, put them into his 1994 Chevy Blazer and left the property, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
Dove had been let go by his employer two days prior to the theft.
The investigation led police to Mark’s Jewelry and Pawn in Belleview, where the two pieces of equipment had been discovered.
Dove went to the Wildwood Police Station on Monday and confessed to taking the equipment from his former employer. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $7,000 bond.
