A Marion County sheriff’s deputy arrested a man Monday afternoon after a violent altercation erupted inside his Summerfield home.
When the deputy arrived at the residence, a woman told him that 50-year-old Luis Antonio Rosario came home with a stereo system after work. She said she looked at it and Rosario “began to act irate.”
The woman said Rosario yelled at her and poked her in the face before hitting her shoulder as he walked by to go outside. Rosario then started taking furniture outside and threatening to light the house on fire, a sheriff’s office report states.
The deputy noted that he didn’t see any physical injuries on the woman but did “observe furniture piled up outside the residence.” The woman also claimed that Rosario had been drinking and “has been getting violent more and more” and has been physical with her in the past, the report says.
After a witness at the home confirmed the woman’s story, Rosario was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail. He was charged with domestic battery and held on $500 bond.
Rosario, who has been held in the Marion County Jail four times since May 1999, is scheduled to appear in a Marion County courtroom on Jan. 11 at 1:30 p.m. to answer to the charges.
