12-year-old arrested in Lady Lake after failure to abide by parents’ ‘house rules’

A 12-year-old was arrested in Lady Lake after failing to abide by his parents’ “house rules.”

Lady Lake police were called at 7 p.m. Wednesday to a home on Primrose Lane after the 12-year-old grabbed a long kitchen knife and threatened his father and mother. The boy had gotten “very upset” during an argument in which he told his parents he did not want to abide by the “house rules,” according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. They were able to convince him to give up the knife and held him down until law enforcement arrived.

The parents said they did not feel safe with him in the house and said they believe he is capable of stabbing them in their sleep.

He was taken into custody and turned over to juvenile detention authorities.
