David Harrison

A sex offender recently released from prison has taken up residence in The Villages.

David Harrison, 45, was released this month from the Florida Department of Corrections after serving a little more than two years on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and failure to register as a sex offender.

Harrison on Dec. 10 registered an address at 1705 Kiley Court on the Historic Side of The Villages, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. It’s a manufactured home that dates back to 1985.

Harrison’s most recent stint behind bars stems from a New Year’s Day 2015 attack on a law enforcement officer at The Villages Regional Hospital. Harrison was tasered in the incident. He was later sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.

He was convicted in 1997 in Sumter County on a charge of lewd and lascivious behavior involving a child under the age of 16.

He was also convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in 2005 in Lake County and 2007 in Marion County.

Harrison, who stands 6 feet and 2 inches tall and weighs 252 pounds, has access to a tan 1983 Ford station wagon and a red 1996 Dodge pickup, according to his registration on file with FDLE.
