An attorney representing 7-Eleven in what may be an uphill battle to locate a new store in Lady Lake recently picked up some added clout.
Tara Tedrow, senior associate at the Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed law firm, is representing 7-Eleven in its quest to locate a service station, convenience store and car wash at the notorious intersection of County Road 466 and Rolling Acres Road.
Tedrow first appeared before the Lady Lake Commission in November and it was far from smooth sailing. She is expected to make a second pitch on behalf of 7-Eleven before the commission in January.
In the meantime, Tedrow has been chosen by Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis to serve as a member of his transition team.
In Lady Lake, Tedrow’s efforts on behalf of 7-Eleven appear to be in for some tough sledding.
Commissioner Dan Vincent has vowed to stand against the project due to Lake County’s “broken promises” to improve Rolling Acres Road. Other commissioners also have expressed concerns about safety and gridlock.
A Villager took to the podium at a commission earlier this month and argued that 7-Eleven wants to build at that location to take business away from a Wawa gas station and convenience store already under construction at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and County Road 466.
