Mary Pentka

Mary Pentka, born January 13, 1931, went to be with her savior Jesus on December 24, 2018. Mary was born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Peter and Susan Russin.

She graduated from Dunmore High School in 1948.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Pentka, daughter Mariellen Hetsko (Dale), The Villages, Florida; son David Pentka of Falls, Pennsylvania; one grandson Daniel and his wife Courtney, Shavertown, Pennsylvania; two great grandsons, Jaxon and Cody Pentka; nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania. Mary was the last of seven sisters who preceded her in passing; Margaret Occhipinti, Elizabeth Sansone, Julie Russin, Susan Lamberton, Irene Solomon, and Pauline Pukita. One stepbrother, Michael Plovicka.

Mary worked in the garment industry at Manhattan Shirt in Scranton, Pennsylvania as a supervisor. Mary was quiet and reserved. She was a mother who loved her family especially Daniel, her grandson. She enjoyed doing crafts with her daughter, Mariellen and going to the Senior Center in Daleville, Pennsylvania with her friends. She touched many in her life with her loving ways.

Joseph and Mary were married 65 years and God’s blessing was in their lives.

Funeral Service is noon on Friday, December 28, 2018 with visitation 11 a.m. to service time at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, Florida with Pastor Chuck Padgett of Trinity Assembly of God Church, Fruitland Park, Florida. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
